Commendations from New Stained Glass Patrons

  • Suzi, Window Designer, Northminster Presbyterian Church - Endwell, NY

  • A huge thank you for the most wonderful job creating the stained glass windows for Northminster! The planning and creative process was fascinating and our communication went very smoothly as the windows developed.
It was amazing to see how you followed my original artwork and made it come alive! When we visited your studio and watched you cut the glass and assemble the windows it was a breathtaking experience! We were very excited, but it wasn't till your team arrived to install the completed windows that we realized the magnificence of this project! Words can not express our gratitude for such a fine job. I'm enclosing a full disc copy along with some of the photos from our adventure together.
  • Rev. Jeffrey O. Cerar, St. Mary's Church - Fleeton, Reedville, VA

  • On May 12, the Sunday after the Ascension, we dedicated our new window depicting the ascension of our Lord. It was a glorious occasion. The window was as beautiful as all the windows you have made for us the past 51 years.
There may be another window or two in our future. If so, we will most certainly ask Lamb Studios to do them for us. Thank you for your professional service.
  • Kay McGee Phillips, President, Salemtowne Moravian Retirement Community, Winston-Salem, NC

  • Not a day passes without my feeling such gratitude to you and Lamb Studios for the beautiful stained glass windows at Salemtowne. As light streams through the magnificent colors and reflects on objects in the Saal and in the Chapel, anyone present almost senses a feeling of holiness and awe.
Don, when donors are happy with their gifts, everyone involved is rewarded. Lamb Studios accomplished this for Salemtowne through the windows. We do thank you.
  • Members of the Ad Hoc Committee, Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Bloomingburg, NY

  • Now that our second "window project" has been completed we would like to thank the artists and staff members of Lamb Studio. By their creativity and professionalism, they were truly partners with us in bringing this work to completion.
The colors and concepts embodied in the two windows have been admired and approved by the church congregation.
So we do thank you for your outstanding contribution to the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption and should the need arise we will certainly call on you again.
  • Michael A. Orfitelli, Chairperson of the Manchester Citadel Building Committee, The Salvation Army, Manchester, CT

  • On behalf of the Manchester Citadel Building Committee of The Salvation Army, please accept my heartfelt thanks for the beautiful stained glass windows that grace our chapel. From the day that we moved back into the sanctuary, everyone has commented on the brilliance of the windows, and the magnificence of the design. They are perfect!
More than anything else, I appreciated the way that you combined your artistic gifts with your personal spiritual experience to create a unique expression for worship. When I see the radiant cross and the soaring dove, it enhances my sense of worship immeasurably.
Given our experience, The Salvation Army Manchester Citadel Corps will gladly recommend you and Lamb Studios to anyone interested in utilizing your services. May God continue to bless you and the important work that you do.
  • Claudia Yeakel, Chairperson, Stained Glass Window Committee, Christ United Methodist Church, Sugar Land, TX

  • As I read some of the early writings of the Lamb family on Sacred Art and also being a fan of their work in Stanford University Chapel, in Palo Also, I found that you have carried on in their philosophy of the visual aspects of a sanctuary speaking of God's beauty and grace.
I realize that the 677 square feet of window was a challenge. You and Roy have created a gorgeous and glorious stained glass window that will inspire and bless all those who experience it. Every time I see it, I am more grateful and I look forward to having that occur for a long time.
Thank you for keeping Lamb Studios in the tradition of the founders. Thank you for helping us to make our response to God, a visual and spiritual reality in our lives.

  • Nancy Burri, Trustees, Chairman, The Great Kills Moravian Church, Staten Island, NY

All old stained glass windows need "tender, loving care" and that is exactly what you recently brought to the windows of Great Kills Moravian Church.
  • Robert L Rua, President, HPUMC Board of Trustees, United Methodist Church of Hyde Park, NY

Thanks again for the fine job you did with the three additional stained glass windows this fall. Your men were neat and efficient when they removed and replaced the glass. The repairs were also done in a timely manner, and they look very good.
  • Mark E. Goodman, President, Board of Trustees, Morrow Memorial United Methodist Church, Maplewood, NJ

We have completed our second project with J&R Lamb Studios. On behalf of Morrow Church I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to you and the craftsmen at Lamb for bringing our windows back to life.
In our first project we entrusted you with the restoration of three Tiffany stained glass windows. They were transformed from dark, easily ignored windows back into their vibrant artwork for which Tiffany is so well known.
In this second phase we had you change our protective coverings from discolored Lexan to clear laminated glass on four substantial transept and numerous regular size or smaller stained glass windows. Where appropriate you removed and flattened the windows and performed exterior maintenance and painting. We couldn't be more pleased with the result.
  • Gary Wilcomes, Chairman, Window Restoration Committee, The Presbyterian Church in Leonia, NJ

On behalf of the congregation at The Presbyterian Church in Leonia, I would like to thank you and your staff for the fantastic job you did restoring our stained glass windows. We appreciate not only the beauty and vibrance you were able to restore to our church, but also the fact that the structure of each window is once again solid and secure.
  • Andrea Smallwood, Treasurer, the First Reformed Church, Athens, NY

At our recent Easter service, I was admiring the fine work which J&R Lamb Studios, Inc. did on the restoration of the stained glass windows in our church.
Our congregation can admire the fine workmanship and feel confident that this restoration will secure these works of art for many years to come.
Thank you for not only the craftsmanship of your work, but for the professional and timely way in which you completed this long awaited project.
  • The Rev. Jeffrey Gargano, Pastor, The Reformed Church of the Tarrytowns, Tarrytown, NY

I just wanted to drop a note of thanks for the amazing work that the J&R Lamb Studios provided to the Reformed Church of the Tarrytowns. For over twenty years the church has stored a valuable Tiffany stained glass window in its basement. By the time we opened the crates after those many years we had no idea what to expect...the condition of the glass, the possibility of restoration, the affordability.
Your experts provided such helpful guidance that we were immediately encouraged. Our project began, and when that window was unveiled in its new home, the response from the gathered was audible...it is simply perfect.
  • Evelyn Daniels, The Stained Glass Restoration Committee, Cap May United Methodist Church, Cape May, NJ

We had to write to tell just how pleased we are with the windows completed thus far. They look magnificent! And also to let you know how professional your crafstmen are. They were so patient with the questions from some of "the guys" and also so very careful of the surroundings—cleaning up any mess—and probably leaving their work area cleaner than before they arrived!
  • Richard Veffer, Managing Director, The Ritz Tower, New York, NY

  • I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for helping my wife and me with the leaded glass windows for our home in Caldwell, New Jersey. Your assistance in selecting the type of distorted glass matches perfectly to the existing windows that were put on when our tudor house was originally built in 1936.
Your staff was extremely friendly, professional and very experienced. I would highly recommend Lamb Studios...
  • Rev. Joseph A. Ferraro, Pastor, St. Anthony's Church, Belleville, NJ

  • I wanted to take this opportunity to express to you our satisfaction with the restoration and repair work that you have recently completed here at St. Anthony's. The replacement glass pieces that you created to match the broken panels, match in color and style perfectly, and are virtually undetectable.
We found your installation workmen to be very professional and knowledgeable, and respectful of both scheduling issues and working around other trades. Their workmanship and attention to detail was very much appreciated.
Should you require references for future work, we would be more than happy to provide any such information, as we would recommend you to others considering work of this magnitude.
  • Otto P. Trostel, Co-Chair, Stained Glass Window Sub-Committee, Covenant Presbyterian Church, Scranton, PA

  • On behalf of the Stained Glass Sub-Committee of the Board of Trustees of Covenant Presbyterian Church, I would like to convey our thanks for the beautiful and professional job your company did in the restoration of our large and complex La Farge stained glass window last year.
As you know, the window is almost a century old. From the time of our first meeting, you and your company exhibited a sense of caring and appreciation for the restoration of this irreplaceable window, and also a sense of empathy for those of us in the church who ere tasked with this major job.
Without hesitation, we would heartily recommend J & R Lamb Studios to anyone who is considering the restoration of a stained glass window of any size or complexity.
  • Jack Messer, Senior Warden 2007, The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, Danville, VA

  • In 2006, we engaged J & R Lamb Studios for the restoration and renovation of two ...stained glass windows. This work included cleaning, touch-up paint, rebrace and touch up interior finish, change mismatch glass, flatten and brace various bulges in these two windows and change the aged lead cames. We were fortunate to have Lamb Studios available as the two windows were in serious condition and needed immediate attention, if we were not to lose them in one of the next storms.
What was most appreciated by the vestry and the congregation was Lamb Studios professional willingness to explain in great detail the work they were doing, how they would proceed and where they needed to be extra careful.
It goes without saying that the members of the Church of the Epiphany are pleased with the work done to the windows and are amazed at how much brighter the windows and designs are, now that they are completely restored and cleaned.
